A recent study on mental health has confirmed what was already suspected—women working in India experience more stress than men. YourDost's latest report, "Emotional Wellness State of Employees," surveyed over 5,000 Indian professionals and revealed significant insights into workplace stress factors.

After collecting responses from over 5,000 participants, the mental health platform YourDost discovered that in the workplace, women experience more stress than men.

An overwhelming 72.2% of female respondents reported high-stress levels, while in comparison, 53.64% of male respondents reported experiencing high stress levels when asked the same question.

Additionally, a higher percentage of women reported struggling with work-life balance - 18% of women expressed difficulty balancing their personal and professional lives, while only 12% of men reported the same challenge.

Achieving a balance between work and personal life is considered to be a significant factor contributing to stress among women, in addition to insufficient acknowledgement, decreased morale, and the fear of being evaluated.

An astonishing 20% of women stated that they consistently feel down, compared to only 9.27% of men.

According to the "Emotional Wellness State of Employees" report, individuals aged between 21 and 30 are the most stressed demographic in the workforce.

64.42% of employees aged 21 to 30 reported experiencing high levels of stress, followed closely by 59.81% of those aged 31 to 40.

The age group experiencing the lowest levels of stress was 41 to 50, with only 53.5% of employees reporting high levels of workplace stress.

These findings were gathered through surveys conducted across various sectors including IT and manufacturing, transportation, staffing and recruitment, technology and media, legal services, business consulting, and more.
