Lipi V. Rastogi, the daughter of senior IAS officers, allegedly jumped to her death from a building at Nariman Point early Monday morning, officials said.
Lipi, 26, is the daughter of Vikas C. Rastogi, an IAS officer with the Higher and Technical Education Department, and Radhika V. Rastogi, an IAS officer posted in the Home Department.
According to officials, Lipi jumped from the 10th floor of the building around 4 a.m. She was immediately rushed to G. T. Hospital, where she was declared dead upon arrival.
Living with her parents at Suniti Apartments, a housing complex for government officers near the Y. B. Chavan Centre, Lipi was a law student at a college in Sonepat, Haryana. She reportedly left a suicide note, which has been seized by the Cuffe Parade Police. In the note, she cited academic pressures as a possible reason for her actions and stated that no one should be blamed for her decision.
The Cuffe Parade Police have filed an accidental death report and are currently investigating the matter. Her last rites are scheduled for later on Monday.
