Chile’s Foreign Minister Alberto Van Klaveren has embarked on a significant five-day official visit to India from August 27 to August 31, 2024. This trip underscores Chile’s dedication to enhancing its diplomatic and economic relationship with India, reflecting the deepening partnership between the two nations, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

 

Minister Van Klaveren arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI T3) in Delhi on August 27, 2024, at 22:05 hrs. The visit will kick off with a crucial meeting with India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, scheduled for August 28 at 12:30 hrs at Hyderabad House.

 

This meeting is expected to focus on boosting cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, and cultural exchange, highlighting both nations' mutual interest in expanding their collaboration and achieving shared objectives.

 

On August 29, Minister Van Klaveren will travel to Mumbai, departing Delhi at 10:20 hrs. In Mumbai, a major economic hub, Van Klaveren will engage with business leaders and regional officials.

 

These interactions are expected to emphasise the economic importance of the Chile-India partnership and explore potential opportunities in technology, energy, and trade.

 

The visit will conclude on August 31, with Minister Van Klaveren scheduled to depart India at 13:05 hrs. The final day will mark the end of what is anticipated to be a productive and impactful trip, further strengthening the bilateral relationship between Chile and India.

 

Chile and India are increasingly focused on expanding their bilateral cooperation. Both countries have been working closely to enhance their partnership, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering growth and mutual benefits. Minister Van Klaveren’s visit is expected to pave the way for new initiatives and strengthen existing ties.
