Counter Intelligence Kashmir busts terror recruiting module

‘Tehreek LabaikYa Muslim'—an offshoot of LeT, headed by Pakistani terrorist handler Baba Hamas, was busted.

Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Tuesday morning conducted raids in numerous districts of the Kashmir valley to trace a newly established terror recruiting module, the officials said.

They said the radius of these raids was extended to Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Bandipora, Kulgam, Pulwama, and Anantnag.

During raids, a terror recruiting module run by the newly floated terrorist organisation ‘Tehreek LabaikYa Muslim'—an offshoot of LeT, headed by Pakistani terrorist handler Baba Hamas—was busted.

The raids come at a time when the recent event of targeted killings by the militants has shocked the nation.

Earlier on Sunday, at least seven people were killed when suspected militants fired upon the workers who were returning from the Z-Morh tunnel project work being currently built by the GOI in Sonamarg.

While they were on the way back home, the militants fired upon their vehicle, killing seven people, including a doctor and 6 construction workers. Additionally, the attack left 5 more people injured, with some battling for life in the hospital.

Meanwhile, the administration promised swift action against the attackers on Monday.

Security forces have also increased their vigil on vulnerable places and initiated a massive search operation to track down the fleeing militants.

So far, no contact with militants has been established; however, the search radius has been widened to plug all escaping routes. The attack was the biggest in Kashmir in 2024.

The mushrooming of the terror outfits in the Kashmir valley is an alarming sign for the government, as the experts have been predicting hybrid militancy for a few years.

A S Dulat, former RAW chief, during his interview on a YouTube channel this year, said, “The militancy we now see in Kashmir is faceless, hybrid, as it has gone subterranean.”

The unearthing of the militant outfit is a massive success considering the volatility of the temporary peace in Kashmir.
