A day after a low-intensity blast rocked Delhi’s Prashant Vihar area, a private school in Rohini received a bomb threat via email on Friday, Delhi Fire Service officials said.

After a thorough search on the school premises, the authorities said the threat was a hoax.

According to an official, a call was received from the Delhi Police about the bomb threat email at 10.57 am.

A team of the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) immediately reached the spot. Police, bomb disposal squad, dog squad, along with DFS personnel checked and searched the entire premises of the school, the officer said.

No suspicious object was found and the threat was declared a hoax, the officer added.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter, he said.

On Thursday, an explosion had rocked Prashant Vihar in which the driver of a three-wheeler parked nearby had sustained minor injuries.

In a statement, the police said the PCR unit received a call informing about a bomb like explosion in Prashant Vihar area. A bomb detection team, dog squad, local police force, along with the Delhi Fire Services were rushed to the spot.

According to the police sources, the Thursday morning explosion was similar to the blast that occurred outside of a CRPF school's boundary wall in Prashant Vihar on October 20.
