Foggy weather conditions in the State caused several flights to be delayed or diverted from Ranchi on Wednesday. The weather is expected to remain similar in Jharkhand over the next couple of days.
Due to low visibility caused by the dense fog, the flight arriving from Pune at 8:25 am on Wednesday was diverted to Raipur. Additionally, more than seven flights experienced delayed landings at Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi, causing inconvenience to passengers.
The Air India flight from Mumbai, scheduled to land at 8:20 am, arrived at 10:19 am, while the flight from Delhi, due at 8:40 am, landed at 10:36 am. The Indigo flight from Kolkata, expected at 8:50 am, arrived at 9:34 am.
Similarly, the Indigo flight from Hyderabad, scheduled for 9:00 am, landed at 10:27 am.
The Air India Express flight from Bengaluru, expected at 4:40 pm, arrived at 5:06 pm. Another Air India Express flight from Delhi, scheduled for 5:55 pm, landed at 6:24 pm. A flight from Chennai on Tuesday evening also experienced a delay of 25 minutes.
According to the Meteorological Department, fog and mist are likely to persist on Thursday morning, with clouds expected to cover the skies over the next four days.
Ranchi is forecasted to have a minimum temperature of 12 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the maximum temperature in Ranchi was recorded at 24.1 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 10.4 degrees Celsius.
