In a tragic incident in Rajasthan's Dholpur district, a bus collided with a tempo, resulting in the loss of twelve lives. This heartbreaking accident occurred late Saturday night when a sleeper bus, travelling from Dholpur to Jaipur, crashed into the three-wheeled auto-rickshaw near Sunipur. The victims included three adult women, the tempo driver, and several children, all of whom lost their lives in the collision.
The police reported that the incident took place around 11 PM. Shiv Lahari Meena, the in-charge of Bari Kotwali Police Station, provided details of the accident to the media.
He emphasised the tragic nature of the event and the profound impact it has had on the local community. As news of the accident spread, expressions of grief and condolences poured in from various quarters, including political leaders.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed his sorrow over the loss of life. He urged the district administration to ensure that those injured receive prompt and adequate medical care.
In his statement, he remarked on the distressing nature of the accident, extending his prayers to Lord Shri Ram for the peace of the departed souls and a quick recovery for the injured.
Amid the mourning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to social media to share his condolences. He described the accident as heartbreaking and expressed his sympathies to the bereaved families.
In a significant gesture of support, he announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 2 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased individual and Rs. 50,000 for those injured in the accident.
