EAM Jaishankar and Danish Minister Morten Bodskov Discuss Green Partnership.

External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar met Morten Bodskov, Denmark’s Minister for Industry, Business, and Financial Affairs, to discuss the Green Strategic Partnership between India and Denmark.

The meeting, held on Tuesday, aimed to further strengthen the collaboration between the two countries on green energy initiatives. Jaishankar shared the update in a post on X, expressing his pleasure at the opportunity to advance discussions on this important partnership.

Earlier, on September 16, Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, also met with Bodskov during the Re-Invest 2024 event in Gandhinagar.

During the meeting, Joshi highlighted India’s significant progress in renewable energy and expressed optimism about leveraging Denmark's expertise in the field.

He encouraged Danish companies to invest in India’s growing renewable energy sector, emphasising that the country has created a favourable environment for sustainable energy development.

India has been making substantial progress in the renewable sector, particularly following its ambitious commitments made during COP26 in 2021. These included the "Panchamrit" pledge, which sets bold targets for reducing emissions, increasing renewable energy capacity, and achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.

India aims to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels by expanding its renewable energy portfolio, with solar and wind energy playing a pivotal role in this transition.

India’s green energy ambitions are positioning it as a global leader in the clean energy transition, showcasing its dedication to combating climate change and promoting environmental sustainability.
