Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 19th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana during the "Rashtriya Kisan Samman Samaroh" in Bihar.
The event, scheduled for 24 February, will see Modi addressing farmers via live telecast. A state-level "Kisan Samman Samaroh" will also be held in Gandhinagar, chaired by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, with Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel and Minister of State for Agriculture Bachubhai Khabad in attendance.
Under the latest instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme, over 9.7 crore farmers across India will receive financial aid exceeding ₹22,000 crore, which will be directly transferred to their bank accounts.
In Gujarat alone, more than 51.41 lakh farmer families will receive assistance of over ₹1,148 crore, according to Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel.
As part of the state-level event, the Chief Minister will virtually inaugurate the "Krushi Pragati-Command and Control Centre" at Krushi Bhavan in Gandhinagar.
This newly established facility is designed to integrate advanced technology into the agricultural sector. Additionally, the Chief Minister will initiate the procurement of pigeon pea (Tur) at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) across Gujarat.
The event will also honour beneficiaries of various central and state agricultural schemes, progressive farmers, and those who have received awards for their contributions to the sector.
The "Kisan Samman Samaroh" will not be limited to Gandhinagar, as similar programmes will take place across every district in Gujarat, including rural areas and at 30 Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
These regional events will broadcast the national and state-level ceremonies live. More than 2.5 lakh farmers are expected to participate, along with government officials and office bearers.
The events will also feature exhibition stalls showcasing products from Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and natural agricultural goods.
Since its inception, PM-KISAN has provided financial support to more than 11 crore farmer families across India, with a total disbursement of ₹3.46 lakh crore over 18 instalments. In Gujarat alone, farmers have received more than ₹18,813 crore in direct assistance.
The scheme continues to play a crucial role in ensuring financial stability for farmers, reinforcing the government’s commitment to agricultural development and rural welfare.
