Amidst the ongoing farmers' protest, a significant event unfolded as the Kisan Mahapanchayat, organized by the Samyukt Kisam Morcha (SKM), took center stage at the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi.

The protest, spearheaded by the SKM, aimed to push the Centre to accede to the farmers' demands, prominently the enactment of a law guaranteeing minimum support prices (MSP).

Delhi Police, anticipating the massive turnout, allowed the gathering with strict conditions, including a cap of 5,000 attendees, no tractor trolleys, and no procession within the maidan.

However, expectations soared as more than 15,000 farmers were anticipated, with over 30,000 expected from Punjab alone.

The gathering at the Ramlila Maidan witnessed fervent slogans raised against the Union Government, underscoring the resolute stance of the farmers. The SKM conveyed its determination to intensify the fight against the government's policies, with a resolution planned during the Mahapanchayat.

Echoing the sentiments, farmer Utpal Biswas reiterated the core demand of the protest, emphasizing the need for a legally guaranteed MSP. He underscored the protesters' commitment, signaling the potential extension of the protest beyond the scheduled day.

Amidst the protests, Rakesh Tikait, a prominent farmers' leader, emphasized the unity of farmers nationwide and the steadfastness of the protest until a resolution is reached through dialogue. The traffic situation in Delhi remained a concern, with commuters facing delays and diversions due to the protest.

As thousands converged for the rally, traffic snarls gripped central Delhi, causing congestion at key junctions like ITO, Delhi Gate, and Daryaganj. Police vigilance heightened as barricades lined the streets, ensuring security amidst the swelling crowd.

The farmers' protest, which began with the 'Delhi Chalo' march last month, has become a focal point in the national discourse, amplifying the voices of agrarian communities demanding equitable policies and fair prices for their produce.
