During the meeting, Patel announced that more than 32 lakh children will be admitted to school during the festival, which will take place from June 26 to June 28.
Providing more details, Patel took to his official social media handle and posted, “‘Celebration.. of Joyful Education,’ Statewide School Entrance Festival is starting from June 26 with this theme. More than 32 lakh children will be admitted to school during this three-day admission festival.”
In the meeting held at Gandhinagar with Team Education, Patel emphasised the importance of micro-planning to ensure no child in the state is deprived of education. He stressed that every child should receive high-quality education.
This year, for the first time, the School Entrance Festival will include admissions for Balwatika, Class 1, Class 9, and Class 11. Patel highlighted the introduction of two new schemes, 'Namo Lakshmi Yojana' and 'Namo Saraswati Yojana', which aim to enhance the educational opportunities for children in Gujarat.
Patel praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating the School Entrance Festival during his tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He credited the festival with significantly reducing the student dropout rate and fostering a new societal awareness about the importance of education.
The Chief Minister also discussed the government's efforts to promote girls' education. He mentioned the 'Namo Lakshmi Yojana' and 'Namo Saraswati Yojana', designed to encourage girls' education and their interest in science. He called these schemes "very beautiful plans" and urged parents and students to take full advantage of them.
Patel stressed the importance of these initiatives reaching every student, even in the most remote villages. He requested that every parent and every student be informed about these schemes to ensure they can benefit from them.
Reflecting on the success of previous festivals, Patel noted the positive outcomes of the School Entrance Festival in Gujarat. He expressed confidence that the festival would continue to promote education and enable every girl child in Gujarat to pursue secondary and higher education, thereby building a bright future.
The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha will witness the oath-taking ceremony of newly-elected Members of Parliament, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The first session is expected to be stormy as the opposition is likely to corner the BJP-led NDA government on the election of the Speaker on June 26, discussions regarding allegations of paper leaks in NEET-UG and UGC-NET, and a row over the appointment of the pro-tem Speaker.
President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath to Bharatiya Janata Party lawmaker Bhartruhari Mahtab as the pro-tem Speaker of the Lok Sabha. Mahtab will then call upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Leader of the Lok Sabha, to take oath as a member of the House.
In addition to this, the newly elected Congress MPs meeting is called at 10 am at the CPP office in Parliament today. The meeting aims to discuss strategies and coordinate efforts for the upcoming session.
The Gujarat government is taking significant steps to ensure that every child in the state receives a quality education, with a particular focus on promoting girls' education and science studies through innovative schemes and initiatives.
