On Tuesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled a special booklet titled Paving the Path to Viksit Bharat, along with eight flyers showcasing the significant achievements of the past 100 days under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
In his address to the media, Shah emphasised Modi’s remarkable journey from a humble background to becoming the Prime Minister of India, noting that 15 countries have honoured him with their highest awards. Shah described this recognition as a source of national pride.
Shah highlighted the historic nature of Modi's leadership, marking his third consecutive term as Prime Minister, a first in 60 years. He praised the political stability and policy consistency that have characterised Modi's administration, describing the continuity in governance as a major accomplishment.
Under Modi’s leadership, Shah pointed out numerous successes in various sectors. He commended the government’s efforts in strengthening national security and defence over the past decade.
Shah also praised the advancements in education, noting the incorporation of traditional values into the new education policy, and emphasised India’s emergence as a global hub for production and digital innovation.
The Home Minister also highlighted significant welfare achievements, including the provision of essential services such as housing, electricity, and health coverage to 60 crore underprivileged citizens. Shah set a goal to ensure every Indian has a home within the next five years.
Shah spoke about the government’s focus on youth empowerment, stressing the increased global competitiveness of India’s young population. He praised agricultural initiatives that have enhanced food security and noted the expansion of ethanol production through reforms in cooperative sugar mills.
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which has distributed Rs 20,000 crore to 9.5 crore farmers, was also highlighted.
Shah emphasised the success of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in providing millions of homes and the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, which has brought solar energy to over 2.5 lakh households.
Shah outlined the government’s commitment to job creation through large capital expenditure projects and the development of industrial zones. He also discussed efforts to promote innovation, including startup incentives and increased Mudra loan limits.
For women, Shah mentioned the formation of over 90 lakh self-help groups under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana and initiatives to involve women in tourism and other sectors.
He also discussed the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan aimed at developing 63,000 tribal villages and improving the livelihoods of five crore tribal people.
Significant judicial reforms were also highlighted, including the introduction of new laws aimed at modernising India’s justice system.
Shah concluded by emphasising the government’s forward-looking vision, including developments in semiconductor manufacturing, Space Day celebrations, and peace agreements with insurgent groups in Tripura.
Shah’s remarks underscored the Modi government’s dedication to India’s security, development, and welfare, showcasing a series of achievements from the first 100 days of its third term and promising continued progress in the future.
