The Indian Air Force (IAF) has successfully concluded its participation in Exercise INIOCHOS-25, a major multinational air exercise hosted by the Hellenic Air Force (HAF) at the Andravida Air Base in Greece.
The exercise, which took place from 31 March to 11 April 2025, served as a platform for high-intensity air combat training and international military cooperation.
The HAF confirmed the completion of the exercise with a post on social media, stating: “INIOCHOS-25 – A demanding exercise successfully concludes, highlighting operational excellence, precision, and seamless multinational cooperation.”
INIOCHOS-25 brought together air and surface assets from fifteen nations, creating a complex and dynamic environment designed to simulate the challenges of modern aerial warfare.
The IAF participated with a fleet that included Su-30 MKI fighter jets, IL-78 mid-air refuelling aircraft, and C-17 Globemaster strategic airlifters, showcasing its combat reach, air mobility, and joint operational capabilities.
The exercise featured realistic combat scenarios focused on enhancing interoperability among allied air forces. It offered the IAF an opportunity to refine tactics, improve mission planning and execution, and share best practices with partner nations.
By engaging in coordinated air operations under simulated high-threat environments, the IAF gained valuable operational experience.
According to a statement from India’s Ministry of Defence, “The IAF looks forward to participating in Exercise INIOCHOS-25, a platform to enhance international cooperation, synergy, and interoperability among participating Air Forces.”
The statement also emphasised the IAF’s exposure to different styles of aerial combat and the importance of collaborative training. Such exercises are seen as essential for strengthening India’s strategic military partnerships and improving preparedness in joint operations.
Operating from Andravida throughout the exercise, the IAF’s involvement not only enhanced its tactical capabilities but also deepened its defence ties with Greece and other participating countries.
The experience underscored India’s commitment to fostering international peace, stability, and cooperation through shared military engagement.
With its presence in INIOCHOS-25, the IAF reaffirmed its dedication to operational excellence and the strengthening of global defence partnerships in an evolving security landscape.
