India has vehemently rejected China's objections to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Arunachal Pradesh on March 12, asserting that the objections lack merit as Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a statement dismissing China's comments on PM Modi's visit, emphasizing that it is entirely reasonable for Indian leaders to visit Arunachal Pradesh, just like any other state within the country.

"It is not reasonable to object to such visits or India's developmental efforts," the MEA asserted. "Furthermore, the State of Arunachal Pradesh has always been, is, and will remain an integral and inalienable part of India."

India has consistently communicated this stance to the Chinese side on numerous occasions, the MEA statement added.

China had expressed strong dissatisfaction on March 11 regarding PM Modi's visit to Arunachal Pradesh, voicing concerns to India through official channels.

The visit, which occurred on March 9, saw PM Modi inaugurate several development projects, including the Sela Tunnel, a crucial all-weather link connecting Tawang and Kameng districts along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

In 2016, China laid claim to Arunachal Pradesh, with the Chinese Ambassador to India asserting that the entire state, including Tawang, falls under Chinese territory.

India, however, has outrightly rejected these claims, labelling them as baseless and unjustifiable. Furthermore, New Delhi has disregarded China's attempts to rename locations within the region, maintaining that such actions hold no sway over the established reality.
