As the festival of Holi grips the nation in vibrant celebrations, Indian Railways has announced the operation of 540 additional train services to accommodate the surge in passengers during this festive season.
The decision aims to facilitate smooth and comfortable travel for commuters traversing major destinations across the country's extensive railway network. Notable routes include Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Bhagalpur, Delhi-Muzaffarpur, and Kolkata-Puri among others, connecting key cities and regions.
According to official sources, this year's festive travel arrangement marks an increase of 219 services compared to the previous year.
In anticipation of the heightened footfall, crowd management measures have been meticulously put in place, particularly at major stations. Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel are actively engaged in directing passengers, forming orderly queues for entry into unreserved coaches.
Enhanced security measures have also been implemented, with additional RPF personnel deployed across major stations to ensure the safety and security of passengers. Furthermore, officers are stationed on emergency duty to oversee the seamless operation of trains, while staff members are strategically positioned to address any disruptions promptly.
To streamline the travel experience, efforts have been made to provide timely announcements regarding train arrivals and departures, including platform numbers, ensuring passengers are well-informed and organized throughout their journey.
