India observes Martyrs' Day every year on January 30 to commemorate the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and to honour the sacrifices of all those who contributed to the country’s freedom struggle.
On this solemn day, the National Archives of India (NAI) and the National Gandhi Museum (NGM), in collaboration with the National Film Archives of India and Prasar Bharati Archives, have launched a special exhibition titled "Journey of the Mahatma: Through His Own Documents".
The exhibition, which will be inaugurated by Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee, Mahatma Gandhi's granddaughter and Chairman of the National Gandhi Museum, offers an insightful look into Gandhi's life and legacy.
The exhibition will be open to the public at the National Gandhi Museum at 3 pm on the same day.
Featuring rare photographs, official documents, audio recordings, video clippings, and personal correspondences, the exhibition presents a detailed account of Gandhi’s transformative journey from his early life in Porbandar to his central role in India's independence movement.
