Sisodia Applauds Punjab Government Amid Amritsar's Visit.

After completing his padyatra in Delhi and being released from incarceration, former Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia arrived in Amritsar on Sunday. He took the opportunity to commend the efficiency of the Punjab government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

At Shri Guru Ram Dass International Airport, Sisodia expressed his appreciation for the work being done in Punjab. “During my time in jail, I missed the people and my team in Punjab. The Punjab government is working efficiently under CM Bhagwant Mann’s leadership,” he said.

Sisodia also voiced hope for the release of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who has been in custody since March 21. Kejriwal’s arrest by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) was related to a money laundering investigation involving the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy for 2021-22.

In a recent development, Sisodia had started a padyatra to reconnect with the public following his 17-month imprisonment.

His arrest in February 2023 by the CBI was connected to alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Delhi excise policy. The CBI alleged that Sisodia was crucial to the criminal conspiracy associated with the policy.

Looking ahead, Delhi is gearing up for assembly polls, which are expected to take place in early 2025. The 2020 assembly elections saw the AAP secure a significant victory with 62 out of 70 seats, while Congress did not win any seats and BJP secured eighth place.
