Krishna Janmashtami, which this year falls on August 26, will see celebrations across the country. The festival marks the birth of Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and is observed with various rituals. Devotees typically fast, decorate temples and homes with flowers, diyas, and lights, and participate in devotional activities.

Mathura and Vrindavan, where it is believed that Lord Krishna spent his childhood and youth, are particularly significant during these celebrations. The local festivities in these towns are renowned for their vibrancy and devotion, attracting numerous visitors and pilgrims.
