As India launches a robust diplomatic outreach following Operation Sindoor, members of several multi-party delegations departing for key foreign capitals were briefed by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. The focus of the briefing was Pakistan’s sustained role in sponsoring terrorism and India's firm resolve to punish both the perpetrators and the masterminds of recent terror strikes, including the April 22 attack in Pahalgam.

Delegates from three of the seven all-party delegations, which include current and former Members of Parliament, attended the briefing. These delegations are scheduled to meet foreign ministers, legislators, think tanks, and media representatives during their visits across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

According to sources, Misri emphasised that while India remains committed to peace, it will not hesitate to retaliate decisively against any act of terrorism. He conveyed that this measured but firm response is now part of India’s “new normal” in strategic and security policy.

Referring to Pakistan’s recent proposal for an independent investigation into the Pahalgam attack, Misri reminded the delegates of Pakistan’s repeated inaction and denial in previous terror incidents such as the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and the Pathankot airbase assault in 2016. He reportedly likened trusting Pakistan to asking a “chor” (thief) to investigate his own crime, underlining the futility of relying on Islamabad’s assurances.

JD(U) leader Sanjay Jha, who is heading a delegation to Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, and Indonesia, told reporters after the session, “Our message to world leaders will be clear — India has reached the point of ‘enough is enough.’ Pakistan’s history shows that whenever we trusted its words on fighting terrorism, it behaved like a thief investigating his own wrongdoing.”

Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, leading another delegation to the UAE and several African countries, said the delegations would present concrete evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in orchestrating terror attacks. “We will expose Pakistan’s links to crimes against humanity, not only in India but also in other countries affected by terrorism,” Shinde said.

Former Union Minister and Congress leader Salman Khurshid, who is accompanying Jha’s delegation, stated that the decision to halt military operations was mutually agreed upon by India and Pakistan. He clarified that there was no third-party mediation involved, countering recent claims by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Misri further briefed the delegates on the specifics of Operation Sindoor, which he said targeted terrorist infrastructure located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), without harming civilian areas or military installations. He explained that India’s retaliatory strikes only escalated after Pakistan attempted to hit Indian military positions and civilian targets.

The delegations’ visits aim to project India’s unified political resolve against terrorism and reaffirm its global position as a nation determined to protect its citizens and sovereignty.
