Farmer leaders have reaffirmed their commitment to the ongoing "Delhi Chalo" agitation until their demands are met, marking March 3 as the date for their next course of action.

This decision comes following the unfortunate death of a farmer, Shubhkaran Singh, during clashes with Haryana security personnel at the Khanauri border. Manjeet Singh Rai and Jaswinder Singh Longowal, prominent farmer leaders, declared that the existing protest sites at Shambhu and Khanauri borders would be fortified, with additional demonstrations planned in Dabwali to bolster their cause.

Longowal criticized the Center and the Haryana government for resorting to what he termed "oppressive methods" against peaceful protesters, highlighting instances of alleged excessive force, including the use of toxic gases.

The demand for a legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops remains a central focus for the farmers, alongside other grievances. Sarwan Singh Pandher accused the government of neglecting farmers' concerns in favor of electoral strategies.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) continue to lead the 'Delhi Chalo' march, pressing for governmental acceptance of their demands.

Despite the tragic loss of Shubhkaran Singh, the farmers remain resolute, vowing to persist until their demands are addressed. Tributes for Shubhkaran Singh are scheduled on March 3, with farmers from multiple states expected to attend.

The farmer leaders maintain that their agitation will endure, irrespective of political developments, signaling a sustained effort to achieve their objectives.

Rejecting recent proposals from the BJP-led Center regarding procurement at MSP for certain crops, the farmers insist on comprehensive measures in line with their demands, including those outlined in the Swaminathan Commission's recommendations.

The farmers' demands encompass a broad spectrum of issues, ranging from agricultural policies to justice for victims of past atrocities. Their unwavering stance underscores the depth of their conviction and the gravity of their grievances.
