Vision for progressive Navy Shared By Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi released a document titled "CNS Course to Steer-2024 (CTS-2024)" on Wednesday, outlining his vision for a progressive and advanced India. The document highlights the key strategies for developing a combat-ready, credible, cohesive, and future-ready navy that aligns with the goal of a Viksit Bharat.

The Indian Navy spokesperson explained that the document details the crucial steps necessary for achieving this vision. Admiral Tripathi emphasised the need for the naval community to move forward with dedication and determination to fulfil the Indian Navy's role as the primary representation of India's maritime power. He urged leaders within the Navy to use CTS-2024 as a guide to manage changes and keep the Navy on track to protect the nation's maritime interests.

Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi took over as the 26th Chief of Naval Staff on April 30, succeeding Admiral R. Hari Kumar. His leadership is focused on enhancing the operational capabilities and strategic reach of the Indian Navy.

In recent naval activities, the Indian Navy's submarine INS Shalki received a ceremonial reception from the Sri Lanka Navy on July 2. The submarine, on a two-day visit to Colombo, engaged in various diplomatic and operational interactions.

The Commanding Officer of INS Shalki met with the Commander of the Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral WDCU Kumarasinghe, and conducted briefings for Sri Lanka Navy personnel. Representatives from the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Defence Forces also visited the submarine.

INS Shalki, a Shishumar class diesel-electric submarine, has been a part of the Indian Navy since its commissioning on February 7, 1992. It holds the distinction of being the first-ever submarine built in India, symbolising the country's growing capabilities in naval engineering and self-reliance in defence production.

In another significant development on July 2, the Indian Navy’s frontline frigate INS Tabar successfully conducted a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with the Russian Navy Ship Soobrazitelny. This exercise was part of INS Tabar's visit to St. Petersburg, Russia, from July 25 to participate in the 328th Russian Navy Day Parade celebrations.

The naval exercise between India and Russia underscored the strong bilateral relations and maritime cooperation that the two countries share. The visit aimed to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and explore new avenues for enhancing the relationship between the Indian and Russian navies.

Through these initiatives and engagements, the Indian Navy continues to demonstrate its commitment to safeguarding national interests and contributing to regional and global maritime security.

The release of CTS-2024 marks a significant step in defining the future direction of the Navy, ensuring it remains robust and ready to meet emerging challenges.
