The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday conducted searches at the 22 locations across five states and Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The searches are being conducted in connection with the agency’s probe into a terror conspiracy case, they said. In Jammu and Kashmir, the searches are underway in Baramulla, Kulgam, Anantnag and Pulwama districts, according to the officials.
Reports on Monday said that at least 10 to 12 locations are being investigated by multiple NIA teams as the investigation progresses and new angles emerge in the case.
Meanwhile, the sources said, these operations in Kashmir are part of a broader series of raids being conducted in three to four other states and the union territories. Reports also said that “the ongoing raids are part of an investigation into an alleged terror organisation.” The specific details of the terror incident related to this investigation are yet to be disclosed by the agency.
