AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi criticised RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging they pose a threat to Hindus, Muslims, and other communities in India.
Speaking at a public meeting in Nizamabad, Telangana, on Sunday, Owaisi rejected Bhagwat's call for Hindu unity, stating that no community faces danger from each other, but from the government.
"The danger to Muslims, Hindus, Dalits, Adivasis, Sikhs, Christians is from Narendra Modi and Mohan Bhagwat," Owaisi said, referring to Bhagwat's recent statement in Rajasthan calling for Hindu unity by eradicating internal divisions based on caste, language, and regional disputes.
Owaisi further accused Modi of ignoring pressing issues like unemployment and criticised him for highlighting demographic changes in Jharkhand.
He also alleged that the prime minister has failed to address China's reported occupation of 2,000 sq km of Indian territory, a topic on which Bhagwat has remained silent.
The Hyderabad MP reiterated his support for Palestine, urging Modi to persuade Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to agree to a ceasefire in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.
Owaisi claimed that over 40,000 Palestinians have been killed since the Hamas attack on 7 October 2023, and noted the resilience of displaced Palestinians.
Previously, Owaisi sparked controversy for his support of Palestine during his oath-taking as a member of the 18th Lok Sabha, a move that led to objections in the Parliament. He defended his statements, asserting there was nothing wrong with expressing solidarity with Palestine.
