Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra commencing on Tuesday. The real executive will kick off his visit to Kerala (February 27) and wrap up in Maharashtra (February 28), inaugurating and laying foundation stones for various developmental projects along the way.
Here's the full schedule of the prime minister:
Day 1 - Kerala
After visiting the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC) at Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, PM Modi will visit the state to open three important space projects that offer advanced technical resources for the space industry.
These include the PSLV Integration Facility (PIF) at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, the new Semi-cryogenics Integrated Engine and Stage Test facility at the ISRO Propulsion Complex in Mahendragiri, and the Trisonic Wind Tunnel at VSSC in Thiruvananthapuram.
Cost of the projects altogether: Around ₹1,800 crore.
Besides this, the prime minister is also scheduled to assess the advancements made in the Gaganyaan Mission and give 'astronaut wings' to the designated astronauts.
Day 1 - Tamil Nadu:
Leaving Kerala, PM Modi will arrive in Tamil Nadu to attend the 'Creating the Future – Digital Mobility for Automotive MSME Entrepreneurs' event in Madurai around 5:15 pm. At the event, he will introduce two significant initiatives aimed at supporting MSMEs in the Indian automotive sector - the TVS Open Mobility Platform and the TVS Mobility-CII Centre of Excellence.
Day 2 - Tamil Nadu
The following day, February 28, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones for various infrastructure projects valued at over ₹17,300 crore in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. This includes the Outer Harbor Container Terminal at V.O.Chidambaranar Port.
Additionally, he will inaugurate India's first indigenous green hydrogen fuel cell inland waterway vessel under the Harit Nauka initiative. Furthermore, the prime minister will inaugurate tourist facilities in 75 lighthouses across ten states and union territories.
During his visit, PM Modi will also inaugurate rail projects for the doubling of the Vanchi Maniyachchi - Nagercoil rail line, which has been developed at a cost of ₹1,477 crore.
Additionally, he will inaugurate four road projects in Tamil Nadu, totaling about ₹4,586 Crore.
Day 2 - Maharashtra
After visiting Tamil Nadu, the prime minister will arrive in Maharashtra on Wednesday afternoon. As per the government release, he will participate in a public event in Yavatmal around 4:30 pm, where he will inaugurate several development projects valued at over ₹4,900 crore.
Additionally, he will distribute benefits under the PM KISAN and other schemes, along with distributing the second and third installments of the ‘Namo Shetkari MahaSanman Nidhi’, totaling about ₹3,800 crores, benefiting approximately 88 lakh farmers across Maharashtra. He will also allocate ₹825 crore of Revolving Fund to 5.5 lakh women Self Help Groups (SHGs) throughout the state.
Furthermore, PM Modi is set to initiate the distribution of one crore Ayushman cards across Maharashtra and launch the Modi Awaas Gharkul Yojana for OBC category beneficiaries.
Among the projects to be inaugurated are multiple irrigation projects benefiting the Marathwada and Vidarbha regions, developed at a cost of ₹2,750 crore under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY) and Baliraja Jal Sanjeevani Yojana (BJSY).
Additionally, multiple rail projects worth more than ₹1,300 crore and projects aimed at strengthening the road sector in Maharashtra will be launched by the PM.
