The Ranchi district administration has declared a no-fly zone within a 200-metre radius from Birsa Munda Airport to Hinoo Chowk, Birsa Chowk, Argora Chowk and Raj Bhavan during the President of India Droupadi Murmu’s two-day visit to Jharkhand, starting on Thursday.
The order issued by the administration applies to flying activities such as drones, paragliding and hot air balloons. No individual or organisation will be permitted to use any of these activities in the designated area.
The directive has been issued by the Ranchi Sub-Divisional Magistrate under Section 163 of the BNS and will remain in force for two days. This arrangement will be effective from 6 am on July 31st until 10 pm on August 1st.
To facilitate the President’s visit, traffic routes in Ranchi will also undergo temporary changes. The traffic department has announced that vehicle movement will be restricted along the route of the Presidential convoy on July 31st and August 1st. Heavy vehicles will not be permitted to enter or operate within city limits between 8 am and 10 pm on both days.
President Murmu is scheduled to attend the inaugural convocation of AIIMS Deoghar and the 43rd convocation of IIT-ISM Dhanbad during her trip.
On August 1st, she will also visit the Baba Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar for prayers before presiding over the AIIMS convocation ceremony as the chief guest.
Elaborate preparations are underway in Deoghar to ensure smooth proceedings, with a focus on security and logistical coordination. Officials are working in close collaboration to ensure the flawless execution of the itinerary.
As part of her engagements, the President will be the chief guest at the 45th convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, which is approaching its centenary. Governor Santosh Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren are expected to attend the convocation as well.
President Murmu, who formerly served as Jharkhand’s Governor, shares a special connection with the state. Her visit has generated excitement among the public, who regard her as a symbol of pride and inspiration.
