Maha Kumbh 2025 to end with rare planetary alignment event.

Maha Kumbh 2025 will conclude with a rare celestial event, as all seven planets of the solar system become visible from India. This rare alignment has added a deeper spiritual significance to the festival, with many believing that such cosmic occurrences enhance divine energies.

As the grand religious gathering nears its end, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune will all be visible in the night sky. The planetary parade began in January 2025 when six planets became visible, and it will reach its peak on 28 February, when Mercury joins the lineup.

This phenomenon, often referred to as planetary alignment, does not have a strict scientific definition but is used to describe multiple planets appearing simultaneously in the night sky. The planets will be seen along the ecliptic, the path traced by the Sun, as they share roughly the same orbital plane.

Sky watchers in India will be able to see Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn without any optical aid. However, Uranus and Neptune, being fainter, will require telescopes or binoculars.

The best time to view this alignment will be during twilight hours, either after sunset or before sunrise when the planets are positioned higher in the sky.

Astronomers predict that a similar celestial event will occur again in mid-August 2025, when six planets will be visible in the morning sky. While Uranus and Neptune may be harder to spot with the naked eye, clear weather conditions and the right equipment can make them visible.

Maha Kumbh, one of the most significant religious gatherings, is held every four years at Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nashik, while Prayagraj hosts the event every 12 years.

Millions of devotees participate, believing that bathing in the holy rivers during this period washes away sins and grants liberation from the cycle of birth and death.

The festival’s timing has long been associated with celestial movements, particularly the planet Jupiter and its orbit. Many followers of Hindu traditions believe that the alignment of planets during Maha Kumbh enhances spiritual energy, making the occasion even more auspicious.

As the festival approaches its conclusion, this planetary event will serve as a remarkable sight, blending science with spirituality. Devotees and astronomy enthusiasts alike will witness a rare moment when faith and the cosmos come together in a spectacular display.
