Congress leader Sachin Pilot has strongly condemned the recent knife attack in Udaipur, Rajasthan, and is calling for greater accountability from the state government. The attack, which resulted in the tragic death of a 10th-grade student, has stirred significant concern among local communities and political figures.
In a statement, Pilot underscored that violence should never be viewed as a solution to any issue. He appealed for the restoration of peace and order in the region, stressing the importance of addressing ideologies that provoke conflict. “Violence is neither a solution nor an answer to anything. Everyone should maintain peace,” Pilot said. “The government should focus on eliminating ideologies and individuals that incite violence.”
Pilot emphasised that the state's government needs to enhance its focus on law enforcement and public safety. “Law and order, governance, and the safety of people should be the government's top priorities,” he added. “The government must ensure that such incidents are not repeated.”
The Congress leader also pointed out the need for proper compensation for the victims and their families. In response to the attack, the Rajasthan Congress has set up a four-member committee to thoroughly investigate the incident. The attack occurred on August 16, and the victim, a student, succumbed to his injuries three days later.
The victim's father has demanded stringent punishment for those responsible. “I want justice. My son is gone. The culprits should receive strict punishment,” he said. “We are heartbroken. The murder was premeditated and planned.”
