Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev has strongly condemned the recent attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, emphasising that the issue transcends national boundaries and concerns India as well. In a statement on social media platform X, Sadhguru highlighted the need for India to act swiftly to ensure the safety of minorities in neighbouring countries.

He pointed out that while these regions were once part of India, they now form its neighbourhood, and it is India's responsibility to protect those who share the same cultural heritage from such atrocities.

On the same day, an Air India flight from Dhaka carrying 199 passengers, including six infants, landed in Delhi. The airline operated this special charter flight at short notice despite facing infrastructure challenges at Dhaka Airport. One of the passengers, an Indian national, reported that the situation in Bangladesh is currently "pretty much under control."

In another significant development, Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus has been appointed as the head of Bangladesh’s interim government, according to the Dhaka Tribune.

This announcement was made by Bangladesh President's Press Secretary, Joynal Abedin. The decision followed a meeting between President Shahabuddin and the coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has also addressed the issue, stating that there are approximately 19,000 Indian nationals in Bangladesh, including around 9,000 students. He assured that the Indian government is in close contact with the Indian community in Dhaka.

Additionally, Jaishankar mentioned that Bangladesh's former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina requested India's approval for a visit at very short notice and arrived in India on Monday evening.

These events underscore the complex and sensitive nature of regional dynamics, especially concerning the safety and well-being of minorities. Sadhguru’s remarks highlight a growing sentiment that India should take a more proactive role in safeguarding the interests of those who share its cultural and civilizational heritage, even beyond its borders.

The swift response by Air India in evacuating Indian nationals and the ongoing diplomatic engagements reflect India's commitment to this cause.

The attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh have sparked widespread concern and condemnation. Sadhguru’s statement brings attention to the broader implications of such violence, urging India to extend its protective reach to its neighbours.

This call to action resonates with many who believe in the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the world is one family. As India navigates its role in the region, balancing diplomatic relations with humanitarian concerns remains a critical task.

The appointment of Muhammad Yunus as the head of Bangladesh's interim government marks a significant step in the country’s political landscape. Yunus, known for his work in microfinance and social entrepreneurship, brings a reputation for integrity and innovation. His leadership could play a crucial role in stabilising the situation and addressing the underlying issues that lead to such violence.

The recent events in Bangladesh have prompted a multifaceted response from India, involving humanitarian aid, diplomatic engagement, and a call for broader regional solidarity.

As India continues to engage with its neighbours, the emphasis on protecting shared cultural and civilizational ties remains paramount. Sadhguru's call to action and the Indian government’s swift response reflect a commitment to these principles, aiming to foster a safer and more inclusive environment for all.
