The ongoing political battle between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi has taken a fresh turn. AAP MP Sanjay Singh on Monday released a satirical book titled Achievements of BJP in Delhi at a press conference.

The book, containing only blank pages, was aimed at mocking BJP's performance in the national capital.

Sanjay Singh said the book was a symbolic representation of BJP’s unfulfilled promises. He alleged that the BJP-led central government had failed to deliver on its commitments, both in Delhi and nationwide.

Highlighting various promises made by BJP, Singh said, "Modi ji had assured permanent houses for everyone by August 2022, doubled MSPs for farmers, strengthened the rupee, and secured the borders. He also promised permanent registries for those living in Delhi's slums. None of these promises have been fulfilled."

Singh also criticised BJP for its silence on its achievements in Delhi. "Since BJP won’t talk about their accomplishments, we are releasing this book to show what they have done. Everything, from depositing Rs 15 lakh in people's accounts to reducing petrol prices to Rs 40 per litre, is written here," he remarked sarcastically.

The AAP leader didn’t hold back in his criticism of Union Minister Anurag Thakur, accusing him of hypocrisy.

Referring to BJP leaders' alleged associations, Singh said, "Those who bow their heads at Jinnah’s grave shouldn’t lecture us on patriotism. BJP’s ideological forefathers supported the British during the freedom struggle and allied with those who backed Afzal Guru."

He further targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inviting Pakistan’s Prime Minister to his swearing-in ceremony and alleged that the government had compromised national security by involving the ISI in the investigation of the Pathankot attack.

Singh said, "Narendra Modi is the first Prime Minister to extend such an invitation. We don’t need lessons on patriotism from those who have a history of aligning with anti-national forces."

The AAP MP also took a jibe at their INDIA’ bloc ally Congress and said that they don’t have any key player in the upcoming assembly elections.

It is worthy to note Congress and AAP are fighting Delhi assembly elections separately however, they have fought the Lok Sabha 2024 elections together.
“Congress party is not a player in Delhi elections. They make allegations every day. Focus on your election and wait for the result,” Singh said.

A three-way contest is on the cards in Delhi between the ruling AAP, BJP, and Congress. Delhi will go to the polls on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8.
