Civil services aspirants continued their protest for the sixth consecutive day on Friday, following the tragic deaths of three students at a Rajinder Nagar coaching centre.

The incident has sparked widespread agitation among students demanding better safety measures.

The protest site, a hub of activity, saw many students bringing their study materials along.

"We will continue our protest, but studies are also important. Those sitting here have brought their books," said Goutam, a protestor and member of the 15-member committee formed to guide the protest and liaise with authorities.

The committee, established on Wednesday, is pivotal in deciding the protest’s future course and ensuring communication with concerned officials. Meanwhile, solidarity among students is evident, with others providing daily newspapers and study aids to those at the protest site.

"Senior students are helping juniors with their studies here. Committee members are also studying whenever they find time," said Harish, another civil services aspirant. The protestors remain resolute in their demand for improved safety protocols at coaching centres.

The agitation began after the tragic death of three students—Shreya Yadav, Tanya Soni, and Nevin Dalvin—on July 27, when rainwater flooded the basement of Rau's IAS Study Circle in Old Rajinder Nagar. This incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of coaching centres in the area.

Students, enrolled in various coaching institutes, have vowed to continue their protest until all demands are met, emphasizing the need for immediate action to prevent such tragedies in the future.
