As the 'Delhi Chalo' march of farmers resumes on Wednesday, the stir continues with the police firing several rounds of tear gas shells on protesters at the Shambhu border. The farmers and protesters are using masks and goggles as a shield.
Meanwhile, in his recent statement, Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda said the central administration is ready to hold a fifth round of talks with the farmers to resolve the issue while urging the farmers to hold on to peace.
Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal today reaffirmed that the protesting farmers camping at the border points between Punjab and Haryana will march towards Delhi in a peaceful manner.
"Our intention is not to disturb peace," he said, ahead of the farmers' planned march towards the national capital.
He also condemned the Centre for setting up multi-layered barricades at the border points between Punjab and Haryana to prevent them from heading towards Delhi.
"It is our request that we want to go to Delhi in a peaceful manner. The government should remove the barricades and give us the permission to march towards Delhi and make arrangements for our sitting in Delhi," Dallewal told reporters at the Shambhu border point.
This is a developing story.
