Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, on Monday accused state Urban Development and Housing Minister and BJP leader Jibesh Kumar Mishra of misbehaving with a journalist and demanded that an FIR be lodged against him.
At a press conference in Patna, Yadav played a purported video showing Mishra shouting at and allegedly manhandling a journalist during his visit to the Jale constituency.
According to Yadav, the journalist, who belongs to a backward community, had questioned the minister about the condition of local roads.
"There is complete anarchy in Bihar...Does this CM know that the Minister has been held guilty in a fake drug case? PM is coming here today. Does this journalist not have a mother? Will he get justice?...You (PM) will speak about yourself, but will you get justice for this journalist and sack the minister? Will there be an FIR against the minister? Will he be punished?" Yadav asked.

The controversy adds to Mishra's existing troubles. In July, RJD's Mahagathbandhan ally Congress had demanded his resignation after a court held him guilty in a 15-year-old fake drug case.
Congress national spokesperson and social media chairperson Supriya Shrinate said it was "quite surprising" that Mishra, convicted by a Rajasthan court, continued to hold a ministerial post.
"He should have been removed from the cabinet immediately or stepped down on moral grounds," she said, adding that fake drugs affect public health, human lives, and the moral fabric of governance.
