Probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar's provisional candidature has been cancelled by the Union Public Service Commission on Wednesday while debarring her from all future examinations or selections.
"The UPSC has examined the available records carefully and found her guilty of acting in contravention of the provisions of the CSE-2022 Rules," the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) said in a statement.
Khedkar was accused of fraudulently availing attempts beyond the permissible limit by faking her identity. UPSC had issued a show cause notice to her on July 18, asking her to explain her actions. However, she failed to submit her response within the prescribed time, despite being granted a final opportunity to do so by July 30.
As a result of her actions, Khedkar's provisional candidature for CSE-2022 has been cancelled, and she has been permanently debarred from all future UPSC examinations or selections.
This decision reflects the UPSC's commitment to maintaining the integrity and fairness of its examinations and ensuring that only deserving candidates are selected for prestigious positions like the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
The UPSC granted her a "final opportunity" to submit her response by 3:30 pm on July 30 but she "failed to submit her explanation within the prescribed time", the commission further said.
