External Affairs Minister and BJP leader S Jaishankar echoed these sentiments, highlighting the Congress's disregard for legal views opposing the handover of the island. Prime Minister Narendra Modi further emphasized the issue, asserting that recent revelations expose the Congress's careless decision to give away Katchatheevu to Sri Lanka.
The VHP expressed hope that the patriotic and nationalist citizens of India would elect a government capable of reclaiming Katchatheevu and other Indian territories occupied by neighboring countries.
