Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar kicked off the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Bike Rally in New Delhi, highlighting the crucial importance of national unity and patriotism. The event took place at Pragati Maidan as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, marking the 75th Independence Day of India.
Dhankhar emphasised that the Tricolour embodies the nation's spirit, urging citizens to place national interests above political agendas. He expressed concern over the politicisation of national sentiments, urging everyone to unite and focus on the country’s welfare rather than political divides.
“The Tiranga teaches us that national sentiment should always be our top priority,” Dhankhar stated. He urged all citizens to set aside political differences and unite for the greater good of the nation.
Highlighting the significance of the Tricolour, the Vice President noted that its vibrant colours reflect the nation’s mood and spirit. He spoke about the success of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which began in 2021 as part of the Independence Day celebrations. The campaign encourages people to display the national flag at their homes, with this year's participation expected to set new records.
Dhankhar underscored the campaign’s role in promoting nationalism and patriotism. He stressed that the initiative aims to instil a sense of pride and awareness of the national flag among the people.
Reflecting on India’s progress, Dhankhar praised the country’s economic achievements, noting its status as one of the world’s largest economies, with aspirations to become the third-largest. He described ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ as a symbol of India's independence, pride, and commitment to a developed nation.
The Vice President also paid tribute to freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, who hoisted the Tricolour in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands during British rule. He concluded by emphasising that ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ symbolises Indian identity and unity, pledging to uphold the pride of the Tricolour.
Through this rally and campaign, Dhankhar reaffirmed the importance of national pride and unity, urging all Indians to celebrate and honour their country’s symbols and achievements.
