Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today urged people of Jharkhand to back a “double engine” government—an alliance between the BJP at both state and central levels, similar to Haryana's model.
Addressing a rally in Jamshedpur, he highlighted that this collaboration would be crucial to address Jharkhand’s challenges like poverty, unemployment, and infrastructure gaps.
The UP CM laid out a series of promises aimed at benefiting women, young people, and marginalised groups, should the NDA come to power. Key commitments included a Rs 2,100 monthly stipend for women under the Gogo Didi scheme, immediate filling of 1.5 lakh government jobs, and the creation of nearly 2.9 lakh additional jobs.
He also pledged to provide homes to 21 lakh families through the PM Awas Yojana, offer free sand for home construction, and grant a Rs 2,000 monthly allowance to unemployed graduates.
To make basic resources more accessible, Adityanath promised free LPG cylinders during Diwali and Raksha Bandhan and pledged subsidised LPG at Rs 500 per cylinder for all households through the proposed Laxmi Johar Yojana.
He encouraged voters to support NDA candidates in areas like Jamshedpur West, Jamshedpur East, Potka, and Jugsalai.
Criticising the current government, Adityanath cautioned against repeating “the mistakes of five years ago,” asserting that poverty and corruption had worsened under the present administration.
He also voiced concerns about demographic changes in Santhal Pargana, referring to alleged “land jihad” and “love jihad” cases in the region, and claimed the current government serves narrow political interests rather than development.
“Elect NDA candidates for a government focused on progress, not division,” he appealed, urging Jharkhand to adopt Haryana’s approach of uniting BJP’s state and central governance.
Adityanath also emphasised BJP’s commitment to preserving traditions, mentioning the revival of the Kanwar Yatra and the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. He highlighted how the Kanwar Yatra now proceeds without issues in Uttar Pradesh, attributing this to BJP’s strong governance.
Addressing religious tensions, Adityanath asserted that a BJP government is the “only solution to stone-pelters” disrupting religious events like Ram Navami processions. He claimed that such incidents and “infiltration” had increased since the opposition took office in Jharkhand.
