Extreme heat makes way for morning walk election campaigns

Morning walks are beneficial for one’s health. However, those contesting elections have decided to use it to reap political dividends. Lok Sabha candidates in Mumbai are taking morning walks to tap on to both old and young voters.

 

Candidates fielded from Mumbai are stepping out of their houses early in the morning between 6 and 8 am to reach prominent morning walk sights. This includes prominent gardens, parks and beaches in their respective areas. They are meeting both youngsters and oldies while engaging in small talk sessions with them.

 

Candidates are of the view that morning walk campaigns are the best in many ways. As one can meet people from varied age groups in the same place. This is the best time of the day when the temperature is in control and one does not feel the summer heat much. Later in the day, most people stay put in their houses to avoid heat and others leave for offices.

 

In constituencies like Mumbai North West, which have many beaches that also include the Juhu beach, the morning walk mode of campaigning has become the talk of the town.

 

In Mumbai North East Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate Mihir Kotecha is campaigning daily in at least two parks of the locality. He claimed to have interacted with people from various age groups— women, children, youngsters and senior children. While interacting with them, Kotecha, reportedly, discussed matters related to traffic, open spaces, civic amenities and others. And he assured them to work on these issues.

 

Kotecha, reportedly, said that people are happy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. And he will try to add to PM Modi’s idea of Vikshit Bharat.

 

In a similar vein, Shiv Sena (UBT)’s candidate Amol Kirtikar met voters at Juhu beach in the morning, this week.
