Democratic Progressive Azad Party President Ghulam Nabi Azad speaking during his address at a public meeting at Kalakote in Rajouri, highlighted the 'contributions he made towards the development' of the people in Jammu and Kashmir while promising to provide free electricity and ration to the needy if his party is elected to power.

Asking for the support of the public, he stated, "If you believe my government was committed to development and did its best for the people of Rajouri then lend me your support in the upcoming elections."
He then added, that together, we can accomplish even greater milestones, including the creation of jobs necessary for the youth, roads imperative for development and connectivity, hospitals for better access to healthcare, and bridges to connect the remotest areas.
He reaffirmed his dedication to tackling poverty and guaranteeing access to vital services.
“If my party is elected to power we will make sure free electricity and free ration for the poor and needy people,” Added Azad.
Azad reiterated his intention to revive the Roshni initiative, emphasizing its substantial benefits for the impoverished.
"While accepting any misuse of the system, the government should have acted appropriately. However, the plan has undeniably benefited many underprivileged families," the DPAP chairman stated.
He also emphasized his party's position on land eviction orders, noting, "We vehemently protested such orders to ensure that no poor person was adversely affected. Our primary goal is to protect the rights and welfare of the poor and vulnerable."
The former Chief Minister underlined the value of Hindu-Muslim cooperation and asked the audience to back leaders who promote humanity and development for all, regardless of religion or caste.
Azad said, "In a hospital, we don't ask about the religion or caste of the blood we need. Similarly, why should we segregate individuals based on such differences during elections? I promise to never discriminate and to work diligently for the advancement and upliftment of all."
As the election approaches, established political parties are attempting to entice voters away from Lok Sabha seats now held by the BJP.
Political observers believe that Ghulam Nabi Azad has a significant presence in the Rajouri and Poonch districts and that his party is expected to absorb the Congress vote share in the region.
Meanwhile, the BJP, which now holds two seats in Jammu, hopes to sweep all five Lok Sabha seats in the UT.
