Swati Maliwal, an AAP member of the Rajya Sabha, ended her silence on Thursday regarding the purported assault against her.

 

She confirmed that she has provided her testimony to the Delhi Police and cautioned the BJP against politicizing the issue.

 

Addressing the alleged altercation that took place at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence involving his aide Bibhav Kumar, Maliwal expressed the distress she endured in the aftermath.

 

She emphasized the severity of the incident, stating that she expects appropriate action to be taken.

 

Maliwal acknowledged the challenges she faced in recent days and expressed gratitude for the support she received. Despite facing attempts at character assassination, she maintained her stance, indicating that she is not swayed by partisan motives.

 

Amid ongoing crucial elections, Maliwal highlighted the importance of national issues over individual concerns.

 

She specifically appealed to members of the BJP to refrain from exploiting the incident for political gain.

 

A two-person team from the Delhi Police visited Maliwal's residence in Central Delhi to record her statement.

 

During the session, Maliwal recounted the events that transpired at the chief minister's residence on Monday. Authorities hinted at the possibility of initiating a formal investigation following the completion of Maliwal's statement.
