Rajeev Chandrashekhar, Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, bid adieu as his term in the upper house came to a close. Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve, Chandrashekhar reflected on his journey, acknowledging the significant milestones and expressing appreciation to those who supported him along the way.

 

"It has been my singular privilege and honour to serve the people of Karnataka and the nation as their representative in the upper house," Chandrashekhar remarked.

 

Acknowledging the pivotal role played by his leaders, Rajeev Chandrashekhar extended his thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Party President JP Nadda, alongside his Karnataka counterparts, including the late Anand Kumar, former chief minister of Karnataka, B.S. Yediyurappa, and former Prime Minister Deve Gowda, who paved the way for his entry into politics in 2006.

 

Reflecting on his diverse career spanning technology engineering, entrepreneurship, and public service, Chandrashekhar expressed pride in his 18-year tenure as a public servant and representative in the upper house.

 

During his tenure, Chandrashekhar served two terms as an independent MP and one term as a BJP MP, witnessing the intricacies of both opposition and treasury benches.

 

He highlighted his active involvement in significant debates on issues ranging from the 2G scam, spectrum auction, NPAs, One Rank One Pension, to net neutrality and data protection, among others.

 

Chandrashekhar expressed profound gratitude to his colleagues in the house for their support over the years, emphasizing the collective effort in serving the nation's interests.

 

In his concluding remarks he said, “I have certainly tried to work hard and I hope that my work and performance in the house has met the standards set by all those who have come before us before me and all those who have come after me, I thank the honourable Prime Minister for the opportunity to serve in the government and my party president JP Nadda and my colleagues in my party and for the opportunity to serve in the house and for their support, thankyou and Jai Hind”
