In a significant move aimed at restoring fairness in sports, Andhra Pradesh's Minister for Human Resources Development, IT, and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, extended a heartfelt invitation to cricketer Hanuma Vihari on Tuesday, urging him to resume his career for the state.

The gesture comes months after Vihari, disillusioned by past mistreatment, publicly vowed to sever ties with Andhra Pradesh cricket.

During their meeting, Lokesh assured Vihari of the state government's commitment to rectify past injustices and support his journey to once again bring pride to Telugu cricket.

"I have invited him back to Andhra Pradesh and asked him to strive to make Telugus proud once again. He will have our full support," Lokesh expressed in a statement.

The minister highlighted the unfortunate political interference and bullying that Vihari endured under the previous administration, which led to his departure from Andhra Cricket.

Lokesh criticised the former regime for appointing controversial figures to cricket administration roles, compromising the integrity of the sport.

"Hanuma Vihari, an outstanding cricketer, faced undue harassment and humiliation at the hands of the Andhra Cricket Association, all to promote political interests," Lokesh condemned.

Acknowledging Lokesh's outreach, Vihari thanked the minister and pledged his dedication to uplifting Andhra cricket.

"I am sure the future of Andhra cricket is in safe hands," Vihari affirmed, expressing optimism for the sport's resurgence under the new administration.

Lokesh reaffirmed the government's stance against political meddling in sports, emphasizing the need for a fair and transparent environment.

"We will take all necessary measures to foster sportsmanship in every game," Lokesh assured, underscoring the government's commitment to uphold justice for Vihari as promised.

As the state looks forward to a rejuvenated era in cricket, Lokesh's proactive steps have resonated positively, signaling a promising chapter for Hanuma Vihari and Andhra Pradesh cricket.
