Carlos Alcaraz wins China Open.

Carlos Alcaraz defeats Jannik Sinner 6-7 (6), 6-4, 7-6 (3) to win the China Open on Wednesday. Alcaraz broke Sinner's winning streak at the 14th match and stopped the Italian from sealing the third trophy after Cincinnati and the U.S. Open.

In a decisive tie-breaker match, Alcaraz stood tall although he did let Sinner lead in the first and third set after being at 5-2 and 4-2. The Spaniard also fell behind 3-0 in the final set tiebreaker and then edged out Sinner completely, to win the trophy.

The 21-year-old Alcaraz said, “Probably after the American swing, I was a little bit down,” he said in Beijing, his trophy sitting in front of him, “I didn’t want to touch a racquet for a while. I didn’t want to travel.”

He also thanked his coaching team, “After that we talked a lot during those days, knowing that I have to be back practising, be stronger physically, be stronger mentally just to overcome problems.

“The last month we’ve been working hard on the court, off the court, just to be able to feel this moment again,” he added.

He further added, “Thanks to my coach Juan Carlos Ferrero,  I started to get the joy back playing the matches, practising, I got motivated again."

He said, “I wanted to travel, to play tournaments again.”

This win marks Alcaraz's third victory over Sinner this year. The third-ranked have earlier won the French Open and Wimbledon.

The defending Champion Sinner is currently facing doping allegations by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
