Three friends were killed and one seriously injured when their Scorpio vehicle banged into a road divider and then hit a truck in the opposite lane on a flyover on NH-44 near Sector 7 in Bahalgarh area of Sonipat district on Friday night. The vehicle caught fire after the crash.
The four friends from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh were on their way home after celebrating the birthday of one of them at a dhaba in Murthal. The deceased have been identified as Prince and Aaditya, aka Shekhar, of Binoli village and Sachin Tomar of Sirsali village in Baghpat district, UP. Their friend, Vishal of Binoli village, is in a critical condition. The truck driver also suffered injuries.
Even after the vehicle caught fire, they managed to come out. However, all of them were badly injured.
