The Aam Aadmi Party on Monday declared its intent to contest all 243 seats in the Bihar Assembly elections, marking its debut in the state with a list of 11 candidates.
At a press conference in Patna, AAP state in-charge Ajesh Yadav said the party would attempt to bring its “Delhi and Punjab model of governance” to Bihar, where regional parties have traditionally dominated.
“We have an approved model of growth and governance. The work done by the Aam Aadmi Party is being discussed across the country. People hailing from the Purvanchal region had contributed immensely to our victory in Delhi,” Yadav asserted.
He quoted national convener Arvind Kejriwal as saying, “If they can help us form a government in Delhi, then why not in Bihar?”
The first list of candidates includes Meera Singh (Begusarai), Bhanu Bhartiya (Kasba in Purnia district), Arun Kumar Rajak (Phulwari in Patna), Pankaj Kumar (Bankipur in Patna), Ashok Kumar Singh (Govindganj in Motihari), and retired captain Dharmraj Singh (Buxar).

Rejecting the possibility of aligning with any established political front, AAP co-incharge Abhinav Rai said, “Our alliance is with the people of Bihar. We won't ally with any party or coalition.”
Yadav highlighted AAP’s achievements in education, healthcare and public welfare, insisting that reforms had already been implemented where the party governs. “Prashant Kishor has just begun talking about reforms, but we have already implemented those on the ground,” he remarked.
He also confirmed that the party’s star campaigners’ list will be released shortly. “Our top leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, Sanjay Singh, and Bhagwant Mann, have all visited Bihar in the past,” Yadav added.
The announcement positions AAP directly against established players in Bihar politics, with the party banking on its record in Delhi and Punjab to gain traction in the state’s fractured electoral landscape.
