The AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP, Vikramjit Singh Sahney, has pledged a sum of Rs 1 crore in response to Mission Chardi Kala, a global fundraising initiative announced by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday to support flood relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Sahney said the funds would be contributed to the Chief Minister’s Rangla Punjab Fund, which has been set up to aid the reconstruction of infrastructure and provide relief in severely affected areas. This marks the first major individual contribution towards the fundraising campaign.
Sahney had earlier donated 50 tractors and 10 JCB machines through his Sun Foundation for the cleanliness campaign undertaken in villages and towns to remove silt. This campaign is likely to go on for the next three months.
