Andhra Pradesh's Chief Electoral Officer, Mukesh Kumar Meena, announced on Sunday that the Election Commission is ensuring another chance to vote for employees who were on election duty and couldn't cast their votes.
During his inspection of voting facilities in Vizianagaram, Meena highlighted that these employees will have the opportunity to vote on May 7 and 8.
"Our aim is to ensure that every employee on election duty gets the option of a postal ballot," Meena stated in a press release.
For those eligible employees who didn't find their names on the postal ballot list or failed to apply for it, Meena assured they can still vote by presenting their election duty order and identity card at designated facilitation centers.
"Home voting and postal ballot voting for all will be concluded by the 9th of this month," Meena said.
He also emphasized that all facilitation centers are equipped with minimum facilities and helpdesks to assist voters.
In addition to preparing for the elections in Andhra Pradesh, Meena noted that election staff have undergone two rounds of training.
He also highlighted the significant confiscation of cash, liquor, and other inducements amounting to Rs 450 crore in the lead-up to the polls.
The elections for the 175-member Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh are slated for May 13.
