Arms and ammo recovered after Maoists encounter in Jharkhand

The weaponry and items recovered by the CRPF after encounter with Maoists.


Security forces recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition after a fierce encounter with Maoists in the jungles of Saranda in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand on Wednesday.

 

The encounter took place on Wednesday between Naxalites of the banned Naxalite organisation CPI (Maoist) and security forces in the forest-hilly area near Dolaigarha village under Jharsuguda and Chotanagra police stations of the district.

 

During the encounter, seeing the security forces gaining the upper hand, the Maoists took advantage of the forest and mountains and fled. During the search operation, weapons, ammunition and other items of daily use were recovered from the spot.

 

The items recovered include one SLR rifle, three magazines, one rifle, one nine mm pistol, one 303 magazine, 174 pieces of SLR bullets, 34 detonators, one laptop with charger, Naxal literature, Naxal red banner, 17 pieces of batteries, one black cartridge pouch, seven pieces of black Pitthu bag, one Naxal cap, two

 

Naxal green uniforms, one black sash, three mobile chargers, five charging cables, one digital meter, three big size polythene sheets, 12 torches, four umbrellas, one portable butane gas cylinder, seven mustard oil packets, various kinds of essential life-saving medicines and other items of daily use.

 

Notably, the State Police along with CRPF is running a continuous search operation against top leaders of banned CPI (Maoist) leaders Misir Besra, Anmol, Anal, Asim Mandal, Chaman, Ajay Mehta, Sagan Angaria, Ashwin and others.

 

In the joint operation team of Chaibasa Police, Kobra 209 BTR, 203 BTR, 205 BTR, Jharkhand Jaguar and CRPF 60 BTR, 197 BTR, 157 BTR, 174 BTR, 193 BTR, 134 BTR, 26 BTR, 11 BTR were involved.
