Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi undertook a comprehensive review of the security situation along Manipur’s international border during his two-day visit to the state.
The inspection, conducted alongside the Eastern Army Commander, was focused on both the border's security and the internal stability of the region.
The visit comes amid heightened security concerns, with General Dwivedi commending the Indian Army and Assam Rifles for their ongoing efforts to maintain peace and stability.
“Their dedication towards ensuring harmony in this volatile area is commendable,” General Dwivedi remarked.
In addition to his review, General Dwivedi met with Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Friday for in-depth discussions on the current security dynamics.
During the meeting, he assured the Chief Minister of the Army’s unwavering commitment to peace and harmony in Manipur, pledging full support for the region’s stability and the welfare of its citizens.
