The army launched a search operation on Monday following the suspected terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi, Jammu region.
On Sunday, suspected terrorists fired upon a bus from Shiv Khori, resulting in the death of ten pilgrims and leaving 33 others injured.
Soon after the incident, a rescue operation was initiated to retrieve the dead and evacuate the injured to nearby medical facilities.
State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams have arrived in Reasi, and drones are being deployed to search the dense forest areas around the incident site.
Meanwhile, the Army has launched search operations in the Reasi forests to track down the suspected terrorists involved in the attack. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Reasi District Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan confirmed on Sunday evening, "At least 10 people were killed in the terror attack, and 33 others were injured."
According to officials, the bus was targeted by terrorists at around 6:10 pm while it was en route from the Shiv Khori shrine to Katra.
"Terrorists opened fire, causing the driver to lose control, and the bus plunged into a gorge," Reasi SSP Mohita Sharma told reporters.
SSP Sharma added, "The rescue operations are complete, and the injured have been taken to Naraina and Reasi district hospitals.
The identities of the passengers were not confirmed. Initial reports suggested they belonged to Uttar Pradesh."
