The Indian Army rescued two South Korean mountaineers who fell critically ill while trekking in Ladakh, officials said on Friday. Unfortunately, one of them died during treatment.
"On September 4, during a mountaineering expedition, two South Korean nationals fell critically ill near Kongmarula, an isolated peak of Ladakh," Fire and Fury Corps said on X.
Army Aviation helicopters carried out a risky night rescue from the high-altitude site and airlifted them to SNM Hospital in Leh.
The Army expressed condolences to the family of the climber who lost his life.
